Before YouTube and DownloadHelper, you had to wait for your favourite music video to come on TV for you to enjoy it. And for many people in 1997, this was it and they were happy to wait. This was also the video that cemented Daft Punk as the seminal electronic music act to watch as nobody had seen anything like it before. Directed by music video godfather Michel Gondry, it depicts a perfectly synced array of characters moving to every beat and instrument of the song. And as more characters are introduced, it transports a repetitive beat into something hypnotic and pretty impressive. It’s still regarded as one of the most iconic music videos of all-time, and very little has come close. Well, maybe this Playmobil version.
