Björk “Army of Me”

So based on the last post, I have decided to dedicate this week to some of Björk‘s music videos. And narrowing down this selection was a tough task. Björk has always been one of the most exciting artists in the music and art world. And her music videos have always celebrated her individuality and that of the directors she works with. Many of them have become iconic and she never ceases to surprise us.

The first video I am pulling up is one of her many collaborations with über-director Michel Gondry. The video for “Army of Me” starts with Björk as a literal tank-girl driving through a bizarre dream-like city that can only live in Gondry’s world. It’s always great to revisit his videos and recognise his quirky details: the singer’s karate ghi, the gorilla dentist, the growing diamond and the artwork on the museum walls. All tell such a unique story that perfectly befits a unique talent. And the track is amazing.
