Yoann Lemoine’s “Woodkid” series

When Yoann Lemoine‘s “Iron” was released a few years ago, the reaction to this video was awe-inspiring. The video was posted all over the web and apparently even inspired Dior Homme’s 2013 collection. Powerful black and white visuals, flawless post-production and camera work to a very epic track appeals to me on a cinematic scale. And it’s been a distinct treatment that Lemoine has carried across his follow-up films “Run Boy Run” and “I Love You“. Lemoine’s portfolio is beautiful and indulgent, especially the work he has done with Lana Del Rey on several videos. But it’s this series documenting the journey of a young hero that is so memorable. It is incredible that Lemoine is credited as singer, songwriter and director on all.
